The Studio
Painting in Zermatt, within sight of the mountain she returns to again and again.
The hand behind the work
Pavlina Sojmova works under the name Pavlinsky. Trained at the Milan Art Institute and settled in the Alps, she paints in mixed media and oil — layering colour, and often genuine gold leaf, until an image holds light rather than merely depicts it.
The Matterhorn recurs through her work, less as a landmark than as a subject for attention — a way of returning, again and again, to a single point of stillness. Alongside it are her florals and figurative works, painted in the same register.
Every painting leaves the studio signed and with its certificate of authenticity. Her work is represented in Zermatt by Zermatt Selection.
Beyond the Mind
“I don't paint the mountain. I paint the quiet you feel when you finally stop and look at it.”
